2009/08/01-02 Maritime Instruments Exhibition A Success

Taiwan Ocean Research Institute (TORI) held a marine instrument exhibition at the Boshan Wharf in Kaohsiung City on Aug. 1-2, 2009. Present at the inauguration on invitation, were President Hung-Duen Yang of National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU), Director Jyh-Perng Sun of the Ocean Bureau of Kaohsiung City, Director Ching-Hwa Tsai of Kaohsiung City Education Bureau, Deputy Magistrate Nan-Min Tsai of Kaohsiung County, Dean Jin-Yuan Liu and Director Ruo-Shan Tseng of the College of Marine Sciences of NSYSU, and Dean Ming-An Lee of the Institute of Marine Environmental Chemistry and Ecology from National Taiwan Ocean University, as well as Chief Zhao-Jia Huang of the Planning Department from Coast Guard Administration.

The exhibit is organized in celebration of the 50th anniversary of National Science Council with intentions of promoting science education for the general public. With support and assistance from related organizations, and under the leadership of Dr. Hui-lin Lin, the two-day exhibition was a success. Dr. Hui-lin Lin is Director of the Institute of Marine Geology and Chemistry, as well as Chief of the Marine Resources & Disaster Prevention Division at TORI. Vice-president Wang of National Applied Research Laboratories and Director Chiu of TORI both expressed their sincerest gratitude for great work achieved.
